Refrigeration equipment is a combination of refrigeration devices and equipment that consumes cooling capacity. Refrigeration equipment is classified into different types based on the amount of cooling capacity consumed and how it is used.

Freezing and Refrigeration Equipment
These refrigeration units are mainly used for the cold processing, refrigeration, and refrigerated transportation of food. They are also used to store other items, such as medicines and vaccines, to maintain the original quality of food and prevent spoilage due to biochemical or mold corrosion. Refrigerated boxes, freezers, and cold storage are the most common food freezing and refrigeration equipment. Refrigerated trucks, refrigerated trains, refrigerated ships, plate freezers, and fluidized bed freezers are also widely used for food freezing and refrigeration.

Air Conditioning Refrigeration Equipment
This involves creating or maintaining an air environment that meets certain requirements through artificial means, performing air conditioning. Different types of refrigeration equipment are used depending on the specific requirements. Room air conditioners, commonly known as household air conditioners, are small air conditioning units. They are classified into integrated and split types according to their structure. Among integrated types, window units are common; among split types, wall-mounted units are common; and among split types, floor-standing units (commonly known as cabinet units) are the most common. In medium to large-scale air conditioning projects, electric compressor chillers (heat pumps) are the primary type, including reciprocating, screw, scroll, and centrifugal chillers. Absorption chillers, especially direct-fired absorption chillers, have seen rapid development in air conditioning applications in recent years. Ice storage technology is also being used in air conditioning projects, which helps avoid peak electricity consumption and can achieve better economic benefits in areas with time-of-use pricing. Automotive air conditioning systems have even higher requirements in terms of weight, size, and vibration resistance.

Test Refrigeration Equipment This type of equipment is used to create low-temperature and other required environments for product performance testing and scientific research, checking whether products can guarantee specified performance indicators and operate normally under low-temperature conditions. Examples include low-temperature test chambers, high and low temperature environment test equipment, and plant growth environment test equipment.

Industrial and Engineering Refrigeration Equipment In industrial production, refrigeration equipment is often used in certain production processes. Its application depends on the process being served, and often the evaporator is integrated with the production equipment. Sometimes, raw materials or products from the production process are used as refrigerants, and the refrigeration system is integrated with the production process.

In construction, when pouring giant concrete dams, artificial refrigeration can be used to dissipate the heat released during the concrete's solidification process, preventing cracks in the dam and increasing the concrete's strength. Flake ice machines are widely used in these applications. When excavating mines or tunnels in shifting sand areas, the surrounding soil can be frozen first, and construction can then proceed in the frozen ground. Furthermore, artificial refrigeration methods can be used to construct artificial ice hockey rinks and skating rinks.
