The open-type compressor is a core equipment in refrigeration and compression systems. Its core feature is that the compressor and the drive motor are separately arranged, and power transmission is realized through couplings, transmission belts and other devices, which is different from the integrated structure of the hermetic compressor. Since the main shaft needs to extend out of the casing to connect the motor, a shaft seal device must be installed at the shaft extension to prevent refrigerant leakage and external air infiltration, which is a key point in its structural design.

With the advantages of convenient maintenance and strong power adaptability, the open-type compressor is widely used in medium and large industrial refrigeration scenarios, and plays an important role in low-temperature storage and process refrigeration in industries such as chemical industry, medicine, and food processing. Its separate design allows separate inspection, maintenance or replacement of the compressor and motor, the maintenance efficiency is more than 30% higher than that of the hermetic compressor, and it can be flexibly matched with motors of different powers to adapt to various transmission methods.


In terms of performance, its cylinder is cast with thick-walled alloy, which has outstanding pressure resistance and can meet high-pressure ratio refrigeration conditions. The open-type compressor is equipped with a combined high-pressure oil seal to improve sealing performance. However, due to structural limitations, the shaft seal is prone to leakage and requires regular maintenance. In addition, the operating noise is slightly higher than that of the hermetic model, which requires configuration of independent oil system components, and the equipment volume is relatively large.


In general, with its high flexibility and easy maintenance, the open-type compressor has become the mainstream choice for medium and large industrial refrigeration systems. Scientific maintenance can extend its service life to more than 10 years, adapting to various complex industrial refrigeration needs.
