The air-cooled condenser is one of the core heat exchange equipment in the refrigeration system. It uses air as the cooling medium, does not require an additional cooling water system, and dissipates the heat of the high-temperature and high-pressure gaseous refrigerant into the outside air through forced ventilation by a fan to complete the condensation and liquefaction of the refrigerant. It is the preferred equipment for small and medium-sized refrigeration equipment and water-scarce scenarios. With its simple structure and convenient installation, it is widely used in household air conditioners, small cold storages, vehicle-mounted refrigeration, outdoor computer room cooling and other fields.

According to the heat dissipation structure, air-cooled condensers are mainly divided into three types: tube-fin type, tube-belt type and fin-tube type. Among them, the tube-fin type is the most widely used due to its moderate cost and stable heat dissipation effect. Its core working principle is: high-temperature and high-pressure gaseous refrigerant flows into the heat exchange tube of the condenser, the fan drives the outside air to quickly pass over the surface of the heat exchange tube, and completes gas-solid heat exchange through the tube wall. The refrigerant releases heat and condenses into liquid to flow out, while the heated air is directly discharged into the atmosphere without recycling.


This air-cooled condenser does not need supporting auxiliary systems such as cooling towers and circulating water pumps, has a small footprint, zero water consumption, low maintenance costs, and is suitable for water-scarce or inconvenient water pipe laying scenarios such as outdoor and remote areas. Its core components include heat exchange tubes, fins, fans and inlet and outlet interfaces. The material is mostly aluminum or copper-aluminum composite material with corrosion resistance and good thermal conductivity, taking into account heat dissipation efficiency and equipment service life.


Although the air-cooled condenser is greatly affected by the external ambient temperature and its heat dissipation efficiency is slightly lower than that of the water-cooled condenser, it has an irreplaceable role in small and medium-sized refrigeration scenarios and water-scarce areas due to its advantages of no water demand, flexible installation and simple maintenance, providing stable support for various lightweight and portable refrigeration systems.
